Supermarket Europe was an exhibition staged on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. Its subject was 50 years of European agricultural policy, and the exhbition was designed as a… European supermarket. 50 products on the shelves told the story of the development of agriculture and food over the past half century, and what part European policy played in it. On the packaging, historical information took the place of product information, and it was all delivered in the graphic style of pop art. Sien designed this touring exhibition at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture for Flanders and the Netherlands and the Centre for Agricultural History.
