Izegem used to be known far beyond the borders for the flourishing high-quality shoe and brush industry. Today, the beautifully restored former Art Deco shoe factory Eperon d'Or houses the shoe and brush museum. The prestigious front building tells the evolution from the craft to the industry and shows an extraordinary collection of shoes. In the back building, the factory hall, the focus is on the production process, the workers and the vibrant social life in the city. The collection is very diverse, the stories intriguing and the scenography playful. On the roof of the factory, the tourist regional visitor center is housed in a golden shoe box.
